Slickdeals Money

A live financial editorial hub from Slickdeals, considering Content Management System (CMB) for the Slickdeals Money editor team.

During the Fall semester of 2022, I worked as a UI/UX design intern at Studio Simpatico, a user-focused product design company. I collaborated with the designers, PMs, and developers to redesign a live financial editorial hub, Slickdeals Money from the parent brand Slickdeals.

Goal
Considering CMS (Content Management System) to build a robust personal finance content platform for Slickdeals Money, we extended the Slickdeals brand into an editor-friendly custom WordPress theme, with a visual design system unique to Slickdeals Money, but in sync with the parent brand Slickdeals.

Contribution
1. Wireframe analysis and competitor research on financial calculator tools.
2. Interface design with infographic skills on multiple pages of financial calculator tools.
3. Responsive web design including desktop and mobile view.
4. Applying design system and component creation for financial calculator tools.

Learning from wireframes
By looking into the ideation wireframes and doing further research on similar tools, I had a better understanding of how the calculators should be designed and what were the decisions behind those wireframes.

Self-explanatory and friendly

With clear instructions, comfortable visual legibility, and last but not least, status feedback, different calculator tools were able to reach the goal of being easily navigated by users.
